The fast-track course in presence to the STS theory certificate! You come prepared, go through in-depth training, ask any final questions and finish with the STS theory exam. Short, personal, results-orientated. The large EU drone licence (= EU remote pilot certificate A2) will be refreshed.
Airclip is officially recognised by the German Federal Aviation Office as an examination centre (DE.PStF.006) for the STS theory certificate as well as for the EU remote pilot certificate A2 (= large EU drone driving licence).
What do I have after the training?
You are the holder of the STS remote pilot certificate and have refreshed your large EU drone pilot licence (= remote pilot certificate A2). According to the law, both are valid throughout Europe for five years from the date of the examination.
What is the difference to the full training course?
You are only with us for one day instead of two and learn the content independently in advance. In addition, you already have the full drone licence in your pocket and supplement your knowledge primarily with all topics relating to the standard scenarios (STS ).
Scope of training
Preparatory online content:
You will receive access to our online learning programme for the major drone driving licence and STS theory, which you can complete at your own pace. This will give you a first impression of the following topics:

Operational limits on the use of drones

Relevant drone technology (distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

Simple troubleshooting and response to error messages

Methods for minimising risk during drone operations

Everything about the two standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02
Training day in presence:
The classroom training day covers the theoretical content relevant to the exam in greater depth for the standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. You will learn in detail about risk assessment for drone operations and flight planning and flight preparation for practical self-declaration in accordance with AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030(2)(b) DVO will be discussed repeatedly for the large EU drone licence. You will learn practical methods for distance estimation and application of the 1:1 rule.
We will then continue with a short Q&A session. Please note: At this point, it's up to you. We will only deal with any final uncertainties before you take the exam. Please prepare for the exam at home!
The end of the day is the exam for the STS theory certificate including the large EU drone licence. The exam consists of 60 theory questions in multiple-choice format. The contents are the topics covered in the online learning programme.
Info: In order to be authorised to fly within the standard scenarios, an operational concept and an STS practical test are also required. If you are interested, you can learn and implement all the practical content at some locations on the following day and receive the necessary certificate after an examination.
Lunch, snacks and drinks are included.
On the training day, we also organise our individual flight training, in which you can gain your own practical experience under supervision. You are welcome to book it!

- Airclip is an examination centre DE.PStF.006 designated by the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA)
- Sample checklists and other documents are available for download free of charge
- If you fail the test, you can retake it at the same location free of charge
Participation requirements
You must have both the small and the large EU drone licence (= proof of competence A1/A3 and remote pilot certificate A2).
You can easily obtain the small EU drone licence online from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA): To the LBA course page.
You can complete the large EU drone licence in our complete classroom training course. If you opt for this product, you will already take the STS theory test as part of the training and will therefore be fully equipped with all the theory certificates that are currently available to drone pilots.
Otherwise, there is the option of taking the A2 exam online.
You must be at least 16 years old. Note: For minors under the age of 18, please have a document of consent from the legal representative (usually the parents) ready.
You will need a valid identity document (identity card or passport).
