Airclip has been officially recognised by the German Federal Aviation Authority (DE.PStF.006) for the EU Remote Pilot Certificate A2 (= large EU drone driving licence) since January 2021. The test centre DE.PStF.008, which is recognised by the German Federal Aviation Office, is responsible for taking the online test.

What do I have after the training?

You are the holder of the large EU drone pilot licence (= remote pilot certificate A2). According to the law, this is valid throughout Europe for five years.

Training content

You will receive access to our online learning programme, which you can complete at your own pace. Plan four to six hours for the programme. You can look forward to the following topics:

  • Everything you need to know about the new EU drone legislation

  • Drone-relevant meteorology

  • Limits of the use of drones

  • Relevant drone technology (distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

  • Simple troubleshooting and response to error messages

  • Methods for minimising risk during drone operations

As soon as you feel ready, you can register for an examination date . There are always several dates to choose from.

The exam is conducted online from your computer. The exam consists exclusively of theory questions. The contents are the topics covered in the online learning programme.

Participation requirements

You must have the small EU drone licence (= proof of competence A1/A3). You can easily obtain this licence online from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA): To the LBA course page.

A practical self-declaration of sufficient flying skills is also required (in accordance with AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030/2 b).

You must be at least 16 years old. Note: For minors under the age of 18, please have a document of consent from the legal representative (usually the parents) ready.

You will need a valid identity document (identity card or passport).

Finally, please check the following technical requirements for taking the exam:

  • A computer (PC, Mac or laptop) with webcam and microphone

  • A smartphone with Android (version 4.1 or higher) or iOS (version 8.0 or higher)

  • Stable internet connection with an upload speed of at least 1 MB/sec (test now)
