What is the DJI D-RTK 3 multifunction station used for?

The DJI D-RTK 3 multifunction station is used for centimeter-level high-precision positioning in professional drone applications such as surveying, inspection, construction monitoring and agricultural analysis.

It can position multiple drones simultaneously with centimeter-level accuracy as a base station, extend the operating range of drones in relay station mode and be used in rover station mode together with the DJI Enterprise App and DJI Terra for high-precision aerial surveying applications.

What accuracy does the D-RTK 3 achieve?

In base station and relay station mode, the D-RTK 3 achieves an accuracy of 1.0 cm horizontally + 1 ppm and 3.0 cm vertically + 1 ppm with network RTK calibration.

In rover station mode, it achieves 0.8 cm horizontally + 1 ppm and 1.5 cm vertically + 1 ppm during static RTK surveying. For tilt surveying, it operates within an angular range of 0° to 60°; horizontally, 8 mm + 0.7 mm per degree of tilt is specified, with an accuracy of under 2 cm within 30°.

Measurement accuracy depends on factors such as unobstructed visibility, satellite distribution, ionospheric activity, electromagnetic interference and multipath effects.

Which DJI systems are compatible with the D-RTK 3?

In base station mode, the D-RTK 3 is compatible with multiple DJI Enterprise and Agriculture systems, including Matrice 400, Matrice 4E, Matrice 4T, Matrice 4D, Matrice 4TD, DJI Matrice 3D/3TD, Matrice 300/350 RTK, Matrice 30 series, DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise series, DJI FlyCart 100 and DJI T60, T50, T25, T40, T20P and DJI FlyCart 30.

In relay station mode, DJI Matrice 400, Matrice 4E, Matrice 4T, Matrice 4D, Matrice 4TD and DJI FlyCart 100 are listed.

In rover station mode, the station supports Bluetooth 5.1 and is compatible with Android 10 or higher.

What transmission ranges are possible with the D-RTK 3?

In base station mode, the maximum transmission range between the D-RTK 3 and Matrice 400, without obstacles or interference, is up to 40 km according to FCC and up to 20 km according to SRRC, CE or JP, depending on the standard.

Between the D-RTK 3 and other aircraft, up to 15 km according to FCC, 12 km according to SRRC and 8 km according to CE or JP are specified in base station mode.

In relay station mode, without obstacles or interference, up to 25 km between the aircraft and relay station according to FCC, 12 km according to SRRC and 10 km according to CE are specified. The relay station should be installed at an elevated location, free of obstacles and interference.

Is the D-RTK 3 suitable for outdoor use?

The DJI D-RTK 3 multifunction station has an IP67 rating when the rubber seals or port covers are properly installed.

It is specified for operating temperatures from -20 °C to 55 °C, has a maximum operating altitude of 6000 m and is designed to withstand a fall from a height of 2 m when mounted on a pole.

At normal temperatures, the battery runtime is 4 hours in relay station mode, 7 hours in base station mode and 10 hours in rover station mode. Battery performance may decrease at low temperatures.

DJI D-RTK 3 Multifunction Station

The DJI D-RTK 3 multifunction station is the successor to the D-RTK 2 and combines three functions in one device: base station, relay station and rover. It tracks five global satellite navigation systems across 19 frequencies and provides centimeter-level positioning for surveying, mapping, inspection, construction monitoring or agricultural analysis with DJI Enterprise drones.

Base station for multiple drones simultaneously

As a base station, the D-RTK 3 provides RTK correction data to any number of drones simultaneously, without additional configuration. It also supports PPK workflows and decimeter-level positioning via PPP.

Relay station for extended range

In relay mode, the D-RTK 3 boosts video transmission in challenging terrain, for example where buildings or mountains obstruct the signal. Real-time signal coverage analysis helps with optimal positioning. In combination with DJI Dock 3, the station can also be installed on rooftops while the dock remains on the ground.

Rover for ground control point surveying

In rover mode, the D-RTK 3 uses its high-precision IMU to record ground control points and checkpoints, even with a tilted pole. Combined with the DJI Enterprise App and DJI Terra, it creates a complete workflow for highly accurate aerial surveying.

Robust for outdoor use

With an IP67 rating and an operating temperature range of -20 to 55 °C, the D-RTK 3 is designed for use in rain, dust and changing temperatures. The integrated battery provides runtimes of up to 4 hours as a relay station, 7 hours as a base station and 10 hours as a rover. It is charged via USB-C, and a standard 5/8-inch thread fits commercially available tripods and surveying poles.
