Is the DJI Matrice 4TD suitable for operations in difficult weather conditions?

The DJI Matrice 4TD is IP55-certified and therefore protected against water and dust. It is specified for use in harsh conditions and can be operated in adverse weather conditions.

The maximum wind resistance is specified as 12 m/s. The operating temperature of the aircraft is -20 °C to 50 °C.

Which cameras and sensors does the DJI Matrice 4TD have?

The DJI Matrice 4TD is equipped with a wide-angle camera, a medium tele camera, a tele camera, a laser rangefinder, an infrared thermal imaging camera and NIR auxiliary lighting.

Other applications mentioned include inspections of building facades, infrastructure, overhead lines, solar installations, wind turbines and substations, as well as fawn searches, person rescue and monitoring.

For inspections from a medium distance, the medium tele camera is described as being able to detect pins and cracks from a distance of 10 m and read data from measuring devices in substations. The tele camera can capture details such as signs from distances of up to 250 m.

How long can the DJI Matrice 4TD fly?

A maximum flight time of 54 minutes is specified for the DJI Matrice 4TD. The maximum hovering time is specified as 47 minutes.

A flight battery for the DJI Matrice 4D Series is not included in the Scope of delivery and must be ordered separately.

DJI Care ist der Serviceplan von DJI für deine Enterprise-Drohne oder Nutzlast. Er greift bei Schäden, die im Einsatz passieren können: ein Absturz, eine Kollision oder Kontakt mit Wasser. Bei diesem Produkt ist DJI Care bereits enthalten. Du musst also nichts extra abschließen.

Es gibt zwei Varianten:

DJI Care Enterprise Basic: Bei einem Unfallschaden bekommst du ein Ersatzgerät gegen eine reduzierte Servicegebühr. Das geht bis zu zweimal pro Jahr. Kleinere Reparaturen sind nicht kostenlos enthalten.

DJI Care Enterprise Plus: Reparaturen und Ersatz sind ohne Zuzahlung und in unbegrenzter Anzahl möglich, solange die Kosten im Deckungsrahmen deines Geräts bleiben. Bei ausgewählten Modellen sind zusätzlich der Verlust des Fluggeräts (Flyaway) und eine Werkswartung abgedeckt.

Welchen Drohnenführerschein brauchst du?

Ob du einen Schein brauchst und welchen, hängt vor allem von der Klasse deiner Drohne ab. Die Klasse erkennst du am Label auf der Drohne, zum Beispiel C1 oder C2. Die Regeln kommen aus der EU-Drohnenverordnung und gelten in allen EU-Ländern gleich.

Es gibt zwei Scheine für die offene Kategorie:

Kleiner Drohnenführerschein (EU-Kompetenznachweis A1/A3): Du machst ihn online beim Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA). Er ist die Grundlage für alle Drohnen ab Klasse C1.

Großer Drohnenführerschein (EU-Fernpiloten-Zeugnis A2): Er baut auf dem kleinen Schein auf. Mit ihm darfst du C2-Drohnen auch näher an unbeteiligten Personen fliegen.

Hinweis:
Unabhängig vom Schein registrierst du dich beim LBA als Betreiber, sobald deine Drohne eine Kamera hat oder mehr als 250 g wiegt. Eine Haftpflichtversicherung ist in Deutschland für jede Drohne Pflicht. Für ältere Drohnen ohne Klassenlabel gelten eigene Regeln. Dieser Überblick ersetzt keine Rechtsberatung. Alle Details findest du beim Luftfahrt-Bundesamt.

Inspections in challenging conditions

The IP55-certified design supports operations in demanding environments, such as infrastructure, energy facilities, industrial sites or buildings. The DJI Matrice 4TD is particularly relevant for inspection teams when dust, moisture or changing weather conditions limit the use of simpler systems. Visual inspections, condition documentation and monitoring flights can therefore be planned even under harsher operating conditions.

Thermal imaging for emergency services

The integrated thermal imaging camera makes temperature differences visible and complements the optical cameras during public safety, firefighting, police or rescue operations. During searches for people or wildlife and while assessing situations, heat sources can be detected and documented from the air. Thermal imaging also supports targeted inspections of irregularities on equipment, roofs or lines.

Zoom camera for detailed inspections

The combination of a wide-angle camera, medium tele camera and tele camera enables different perspectives during the same operation. Wide-angle images provide an overview of the object or area of operation, while telephoto images capture details from a safe distance. This is useful for facades, power infrastructure, industrial facilities or hard-to-access structures when cracks, components, signs or instrument readings need to be documented.

Night vision and distance data

The NIR auxiliary lighting and laser rangefinder expand the DJI Matrice 4TD's capabilities in low-light conditions and for precise situation assessment. Emergency responders and inspection teams can better classify targets, record distances and link observations with image data. For recurring monitoring flights, security tasks and emergency operations, this creates a reliable data basis consisting of visual, thermal and distance information.

Control for standalone operations

This combo is designed for standalone operation with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise and includes DJI Care Enterprise Plus. The flight battery is not included in the scope of delivery and must be planned separately for operation. The DJI Matrice 4TD is therefore suitable for professional teams seeking a robust platform for inspections, public safety operations, security tasks and thermal applications beyond a dedicated dock installation.
