The DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise battery in the C1 version is a lightweight flight battery for the C1 versions of the DJI Mavic 3E and DJI Mavic 3T.
Why is the weight of the C1 battery relevant?
The battery weighs 285 g and therefore keeps the drone's take-off weight below the 900-g limit.
This allows drones with a C1 class marking to retain their C1 classification.
Does the battery enable operation in the open category A1?
With a drone bearing a C1 class marking, the take-off weight below 900 g allows operation in the open category, subcategory A1.
However, the battery alone does not make a drone a C1 drone.
What requirements must be met for C1-compliant operation?
The decisive factor is the C1 class marking of the aircraft.
C1-compliant operation also requires the Mavic 3 Enterprise Low-Noise-Propellers and the corresponding firmware.
A Mavic 3 Enterprise without a C1 marking does not become a C1 drone through the use of this battery.
What benefits does subcategory A1 offer when operating the Mavic 3 Enterprise?
In subcategory A1, no fixed minimum distance from uninvolved persons is required, unlike in subcategory A2.
The EU A1/A3 competency certificate is sufficient for operation; an A2 remote pilot certificate is not required.
Intentionally flying over uninvolved persons is not permitted in A1 either, and flying over crowds is generally prohibited.
