Should I now take the new EU certificate of proficiency (drone driving licence) straight away?

Since January 2021, only the new EU drone pilot licences have been issued. These include the EU Certificate of Competence A1/A3 and the EU Remote Pilot Certificate A2.

As soon as a drone is operated with more than 250g, at least the small drone licence (EU proof of competence A1/A3) is required for the drone pilot.

For drones with a take-off weight of less than 250g, we also recommend obtaining a small drone pilot's licence from the Federal Aviation Office. This provides you with basic knowledge about how drones work and how to operate them.
