What is an IMU?

IMU stands for Inertial Measurement Unit and is used to determine position. We can therefore use the IMU to find out whether our drone is turning to the right, for example, or is being unintentionally pushed in one direction by the wind.

If we delve a little deeper into the technology, we find out that an IMU measures acceleration and uses this to derive information about the current movement. In drones, it works closely with the GNSS .
