What is remote identification and what systems are available? (EU Drone Regulation)

Remote identification stands for transmission options that make relevant information about the drone available to everyone. The aim of the technology is to increase social acceptance of drones by enabling anyone to view the operator and the drone's key flight data - for example, if they feel they are being harassed.

What remote identification systems are currently available?

There are two systems called Network Remote ID and Broadcast Remote ID.
Every certified drone must fulfil the technical requirements for Remote ID. This can already be activated for DJI models in particular. However, activation by the operator or remote pilot is not mandatory.
