Description

EU drone license in two days

Obtain the comprehensive EU drone license in just two days with our intensive classroom training. Our experts will guide you through all relevant areas of drone flight so that you are well prepared. This training is ideal for companies and individuals who want to take drone flight seriously.

Comprehensive theoretical and practical training

Our training course offers you comprehensive training in theory and practice. You will have plenty of time for questions and will be trained in the STS theory content, which covers standardized operational applications in the specific category. This will ensure you are well prepared for any challenges.

Technical briefing on the Matrice 4 series

Gain extensive knowledge of the Matrice 4 series through technical instruction. You will learn about the components of the drone, gain insights into the operating software, and be able to complete practice flights, depending on weather conditions. Tips on flight planning and maintenance round off the program.

Officially recognized testing center

Since January 2021, Airclip has been officially recognized by the Federal Aviation Authority as a testing center for the EU Remote Pilot Certificate A2. Since December 2023, we have also been recognized for the STS Theory Certificate. These certificates are valid throughout Europe and for five years.

Training results

After the training, you will hold the EU drone pilot license and the theory certificate for all standard scenarios. Both certificates are recognized throughout Europe and are valid for five years, opening up many opportunities for you.

training content

Preparatory online content:

You will receive access to our online learning program for the large drone license and STS theory, which you can complete at your own pace. This will give you an initial overview of the following topics:

  • Everything you need to know about the new EU drone legislation

  • Meteorology relevant to drones

  • Operational limits of drone use

  • Relevant drone technology ( distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

  • Simple troubleshooting and responding to error messages

  • Methods for minimizing risk when using drones

  • Everything you need to know about the two standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02

Day 1:

On the first day of the course, the agenda focuses on basic training with an emphasis on practical knowledge (knowledge required for the A2 drone license). We take a comprehensive look at the use of drones and go through the practical topics of the online learning program in detail. You can look forward to the following content:

  • Drone use/legal situation in the OPEN EU category, i.e., "What am I allowed to do with drone X without special permission?" (in particular §21h LuftVO)

  • Practical meteorology relevant to drones

  • Relevant drone technology (distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

  • Live flight planning based on individual practical examples (weather, geozones, NOTAM briefing)

  • Setup and safety settings in various control apps

  • Technical briefing on the Mavic 3 drone

  • Practical flight training in GNSS/GPS mode and basic functions (camera operation, altitude and distance query)

  • Practical training in emergency scenarios such as GNSS/GPS or radio failure (training drones are provided)

You are welcome to ask our experts questions at any time.

Importantnote: The exam for the small EU drone license must be taken in advance online at the Federal Aviation Authority, as this is the only option in Germany. Please feel free to request a more detailed video tutorial using our contact form.

Day 2:

The second day covers the exam-relevant theory in depth for the standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. You will learn about risk assessment for drone use in detail and also review topics from the first day. Flight planning and flight preparation for practical self-declaration in accordance with AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030(2)(b) DVO will be discussed for the EU drone license. You will learn practical methods for estimating distance and applying the 1:1 rule.

We will then continue with a short question and answer session . Please note: This is where you come in. We will only address any remaining uncertainties before you take the exam. Please prepare for the exam at home!

The day concludes with the exam for the EU drone license, including the STS theory exam. The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice theory questions. The content covers the topics discussed in the online learning program.

Info: In order to be allowed to fly within the standard scenarios, an operating concept and an STS practical exam are also required . If you are interested, you can learn and implement all the practical content at some locations on the following third day and receive the necessary certificate after passing an exam.

Lunch, snacks, and drinks are included.

General information:

  • Coffee, water, juices, lunch, and snacks are provided (vegetarians and vegans, please give us a quick heads up).
