Description
The training includes an online preparation course that covers the most important content for the theory exam, followed by a compact review of the key exam topics. This is followed by the written exam to renew the A2 remote pilot license. Our special package also includes an upgrade to the STS 01/02 remote pilot license

Classroom training and exam:
- Held on our group training dates
- Question and answer session to clarify any open points from the online preparation
- Brief review of aviation law, the differences between STS-01 and STS-02, payload, battery physics, and staff responsibilities
- Theory exam with immediate results on site
Information about the exam:
- The STS theory exam, including the A2 license, is a prerequisite for approvals and for operating Class C2, C5, and C6 drones.
- The learning content on our platform must be thoroughly reviewed before the training-this is essential for a successful exam.
- If a retake is necessary, a re-examination can be taken during our group training dates. The fee is EUR 140 net.
- Please bring a valid ID document and proof of passing the A1/A3 online exam. Minors require the consent of their legal representative.
- The LBA charges a fee of EUR 45 for issuing the A2/STS remote pilot certificate.
- In order to be allowed to fly in standardized drone scenarios, an operational concept is required in addition to the STS theory and practical exams.

You must have an EU A2 drone license.
You must be at least 16 years old. Note: For minors under the age of 18, please have a document of consent from your legal representative (usually your parents) ready.

What are the benefits of the STS upgrade?
The STS upgrade significantly expands your flight options.
- STS-01 allows flights up to 120 m above built-up areas, even in the vicinity of uninvolved persons (at a safe distance).
- With A2, this is only possible to a limited extent.
- Ideal for urban flights, industrial inspections, or event documentation.
- STS-02 enables BVLOS flights in unpopulated areas, e.g., for infrastructure inspections.
- Without STS, you would have to apply for individual permission for each BVLOS flight.
Does the A1/A3 license need to be renewed in advance?
No, the A1/A3 certificate is automatically renewed with the A2/STS upgrade.
What does the online preparation include?
Extensive teaching materials such as videos, scripts, practice questions for independent training, and sample checklists specifically for the STS upgrade.
