Description
DJI Zenmuse L3 LiDAR system with long-range performance
The DJI Zenmuse L3 LiDAR system offers long-range performance of up to 950 meters at 10% reflection for the first time. It enables precise measurements from 300–500 m flight altitude with up to 3.5 cm vertical and 5 cm horizontal accuracy. This means it delivers reliable results even in difficult lighting and terrain conditions, making it ideal for large-scale mapping and 3D modeling.
Dual camera system with 100 MP resolution for razor-sharp orthophotos
The dual camera system with 100 megapixels combines two Micro Four Thirds sensors for high-resolution RGB images. In conjunction with the LiDAR module, it produces synchronized point clouds and orthophotos in a single flight, saving time and improving data accuracy. This feature is perfect for 3D reconstructions and georeferenced surveying projects.
Three scan modes for maximum flexibility on every project
With linear, star-shaped, and non-repetitive scanning methods, the DJI Zenmuse L3 adapts to any scenario. While linear mode offers the highest precision, star mode provides optimal area coverage. Non-repetitive mode captures additional building structures and delivers detailed results for urban mapping.
Extended scan range with up to 16 returns for detailed point clouds
Thanks to a variable scanning range and up to 16 echoes, the DJI Zenmuse L3 LiDAR system delivers precise point clouds even in dense vegetation. The adjustable sampling rate from 100 kHz to 2000 kHz allows flexible adaptation to different types of terrain for efficient data collection in forest, urban, and infrastructure projects.
Integrated 3-axis stabilization for stable scans and accurate results
The Zenmuse L3's 3-axis stabilization guarantees smooth, vibration-free images, even on uneven terrain or in strong winds. The system enables horizontal scans of building facades and infrastructure, resulting in detailed models and accurate elevation information.
Seamless compatibility with DJI Matrice 400 and DJI Terra software
The DJI Zenmuse L3 can be mounted directly onto the DJI Matrice 400 via the standard payload port. Together with DJI Terra and DJI Modify, post-processing of point clouds is automated—from classification to 3D analysis. This creates a complete workflow for professional aerial surveying and mapping.

ersten Vermessungsdrohnen blieben keine Fragen unbeantwortet. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön an Marc und Daniel.
Der Einsatz der Drohnen war für uns durch euer herausragendes Engagement vom Start weg ein voller Erfolg und erspart uns
so viel Zeit. Vielen Dank! Wir freuen uns auf die Partnerschaft und auf viele spannende Projekte.
Da kommt noch was, versprochen!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the order of magnitude of the point noise?
The point noise is impressively low. On an asphalt road, for example, it is only about 1–2 cm, which provides an excellent basis for high-precision measurements.
Why does the L3 penetrate vegetation better than its predecessors?
Thanks to lower laser beam divergence and the ability to capture multiple echoes (returns), the L3 achieves a significantly higher point density on the ground. This results in more accurate measurement data, even under dense vegetation.
Do I need to modify my M400 to attach the sensor?
Yes, the DJI Zenmuse L3 is slightly heavier than other sensors. Therefore, a reinforced gimbal mount is included to replace the existing mount on the M400. This mount can only be used for the L3 and is not compatible with other payloads.
Why does the L3 have two photogrammetry cameras?
The two cameras, which are slightly angled to the left and right, ensure optimal strip overlap during photogrammetric flights. This allows LiDAR and photo data to be combined efficiently, resulting in better data coverage and fewer flight strips required.
How is the data stored?
The data is not stored on a standard SD card, but on a fast CF memory card. This ensures stable data transfer even at high recording rates.
Can I also use the L3 on an M350?
No, the 1.8 kg sensor is only compatible with the DJI Matrice 400. It cannot currently be used with the M350.
What is the maximum point density at a flight altitude of 120 m?
At a flight speed of 10 m/s, the DJI Zenmuse L3 achieves a maximum point density of approximately XXX points per square meter (depending on scan mode and sampling rate).
What is the maximum point density at a flight altitude of 120 m?
At a flight speed of 10 m/s, the DJI Zenmuse L3 achieves a maximum point density of approximately XXX points per square meter (depending on scan mode and sampling rate).
How much time can be saved compared to the L2?
At the same flight altitude, the L3 scans the same area in around 40% less time, allowing projects to be completed much more efficiently.
