What does NOTAM mean?

NOTAM is the abbreviation for Notice To AirMen.

NOTAMs are issued by DFS (air traffic control). This is up-to-date information that must be observed. For example:

  • Warnings of obstacles (such as a defective beacon on a wind turbine)
  • Warnings of drone activity
  • Temporary flight restriction areas (ED-R) (such as the location of the disaster control centre in the event of flooding)

The latest regulations on the EU Drone Regulation can be found in our knowledge article!

Gain further important knowledge in one of our training courses. Once you have passed the drone operator's licence, you will be fully informed about drones and airspace.
