Description
This training consists of a comprehensive online preparation course with a brief review of the most important exam topics in classroom instruction, followed by a written exam for the A2/STS remote pilot certificate. In order to pass the exam, it is essential that you complete the online preparation course!
Alternatively, we recommend participating in our basic training course with practical training and flight planning (2 days).

Classroom training/exam:

- Question and answer session if any uncertainties arose during the online preparation
- Brief review of aviation law, differences between STS-01 and STS-02, payload, battery physics, and staff responsibilities
- Conducting the theory exam, communicating the results on site
Information about the exam:
- The STS theory exam, including the A2 license, can be used for approvals and the use of C2, C5, and C6 drones
- In order to be allowed to fly within the scope of standard scenarios, the STS theory and practical exam and an operating concept are required, among other things
- If necessary: We offer a re-examination on our group training dates at a price of EUR 140 net
- A valid ID and proof of the A1/A3 online exam must be carried with you. Minors need the consent of their legal guardian
- The Federal Aviation Authority (LBA) charges a fee of EUR 60 for issuing the remote pilot certificate

Preparatory online content:
You will receive access to the online learning program for the large drone license and STS theory, which you can complete at your own pace. This will enable you to acquire knowledge on the following topics:

Relevant drone technology (distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

Everything you need to know about the two standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02
In-person training day:
The in-person day covers the exam-relevant theoretical content in depth for the standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. You will learn about risk assessment for drone operations in detail, and flight planning and flight preparation for practical self-declaration in accordance with AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030(2)(b) DVO will be reviewed for the EU drone license. You will learn practical methods for estimating distance and applying the 1:1 rule.
We will then continue with a short question and answer session. Please note: This is where you come in. We will only address any remaining uncertainties before you take the exam. Please prepare for the exam at home!
The day concludes with the STS theory certificate exam, including the EU drone license. The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice theory questions. The content covers the topics covered in the online learning program.
Info: In order to be allowed to fly within the standard scenarios, an operating concept and an STS practical exam are also required. If you are interested, you can learn and implement all the practical content at some locations on the following day and, after successfully passing the practical exam, receive the necessary STS certificate.

Our individual flight training also takes place on the training day, where you can gain your own practical experience under supervision. Feel free to book it as well!

- Sample checklists and other documents are available for download free of charge.
- If you do not pass, you can take a retest at the same location for a fee
Requirements for participation
You must have the small EU drone license(= A1/A3 certificate of competence).
You can easily obtain the small EU drone license online from the Federal Aviation Authority (LBA): Go to the LBA course page.
You must be at least 16 years old. Note: For minors under the age of 18, please have a document of consent from your legal representative (usually your parents) ready.
You need a valid identity document (ID card or passport).
