Description
This training consists of a comprehensive online preparation course with a brief review of the most important exam topics in classroom instruction, followed by a written exam for the A2/STS remote pilot certificate. In order to pass the exam, it is essential that you complete the online preparation course!
Alternatively, we recommend participating in our basic training course with practical training and flight planning (2 days).

Classroom training/exam:

- Brief review of aviation law, differences between STS-01 and STS-02, payload, battery physics, and staff responsibilities
- Conducting the theory exam, communicating the results on site
Information about the exam:
- The STS theory exam, including the A2 license, can be used for approvals and the use of C2, C5, and C6 drones
- In order to be allowed to fly within the scope of standard scenarios, the STS theory and practical exam and an operating concept are required, among other things
- If necessary: We offer a re-examination on our group training dates at a price of EUR 140 net
- A valid ID and proof of the A1/A3 online exam must be carried with you. Minors need the consent of their legal guardian
- The Federal Aviation Authority (LBA) charges a fee of EUR 60 for issuing the remote pilot certificate
Scope of training
Preparatory online content:
You will receive access to the online learning programme for the major drone driving licence and STS theory, which you can complete at your own pace. This enables you to acquire knowledge on the following topics:

All the essentials of the new EU drone legislation

Drone-relevant meteorology

Operational limits on the use of drones

Relevant drone technology (distance sensors, positioning, etc.)

Simple troubleshooting and response to error messages

Methods for minimising risk during drone operations

Everything about the two standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02
Training day in presence:
The classroom training day covers the theoretical content relevant to the exam in greater depth for the standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. You will learn in detail about risk assessment for drone operations and flight planning and flight preparation for practical self-declaration in accordance with AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030(2)(b) DVO will be discussed repeatedly for the large EU drone licence. You will learn practical methods for distance estimation and application of the 1:1 rule.
We will then continue with a short Q&A session. Please note: At this point, it's up to you. We will only deal with any final uncertainties before you take the exam. Please prepare for the exam at home!
The end of the day is the exam for the STS theory certificate including the large EU drone licence. The exam consists of 60 theory questions in multiple-choice format. The contents are the topics covered in the online learning programme.
Info: In order to be authorised to fly within the standard scenarios, an operational concept and an STS practical test are also required. If you are interested, you can learn and implement all the practical content at some locations on the following day and receive the necessary certificate after an examination.
Snacks and drinks are included.
On the training day, we also organise our individual flight training, in which you can gain your own practical experience under supervision. You are welcome to book it!

- Airclip is an examination centre DE.PStF.006 designated by the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA)
- Sample checklists and other documents are available to download free of charge
- If you do not pass, you can retake the exam at the same location for a fee
Participation requirements
You must have the small EU drone licence(= proof of competence A1/A3).
You can easily obtain the small EU drone licence online from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA): To the LBA course page.
You must be at least 16 years old. Note: For minors under the age of 18, please have a document of consent from their legal representative (usually their parents) ready.
You will need a valid identity document (identity card or passport).
