Frequently Asked Questions

Does Airclip submit the application for an operating license, or do I have to do that?

The aviation authorities stipulate that the operator must submit the application themselves. You are the operator, so you must submit it. However, the aviation authorities allow operators to seek assistance from consulting firms. At Airclip, we accompany you through the entire process and participate in correspondence, meetings, and all communication.

Will I have ongoing costs and, if so, what are they?

There are ongoing costs for hardware maintenance and annual software license fees. In addition, the authorities may charge additional costs if, for example, new locations are to be added for approval.

How long does it take before I am ready to go?

It usually takes 5-6 months to obtain approval from the aviation authority. Unfortunately, the process cannot be accelerated in Germany at present due to the authorities being overloaded.
