What is the EU Drone Regulation?
The EU Drone Regulation regulates where and under what conditions a drone may be flown.
The Drone Regulation came into force in January 2021. It is a reaction to the increasing use of drones and the standardisation of regulations within the EU. The Drone Regulation divides drones into weight classes, which are subject to certain requirements, and operating categories. The EU Drone Regulation makes it easy to fly drones in many cases. At the same time, some places and areas are subject to flight bans that can be circumvented by means of permits or operating licences.
