Description

DJI Dock 3 for autonomous operations

The DJI Dock 3 is a weatherproof, stationary base for automated drone operations – the drone is not included in the scope of delivery. It serves as a takeoff and landing platform with charging function for compatible models such as the DJI Matrice 4D series. flights can be fully remote-controlled and automated via DJI FlightHub 2 – ideal for recurring inspection flights, drone surveying, or security applications. Please note: The compatible drone must be purchased separately.

Fast charging for continuous use

The DJI Dock 3 provides automatic fast charging for the drone in use – the system is ready to take off again in around 30 minutes. An intelligent cooling concept reduces charging times and protects the hardware. The dock is ideal for continuous drone missions, such as perimeter protection, infrastructure inspections, or automated construction monitoring.

Robust design with IP55 protection

With its IP55 certification, the DJI Dock 3 is optimally protected against dust, rain, and temperature fluctuations. It was specially designed for permanent outdoor use and is therefore perfect for industrial drone applications, agriculture, and government applications. The technology works reliably, even under demanding environmental conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Workflows and applications

What does a typical use case look like?

  1. Mission planning is carried out via DJI FlightHub 2
  2. The drone takes off automatically from the dock
  3. Carries out the mission (e.g., inspection, mapping)
  4. Returns automatically and recharges
  5. Data is automatically uploaded and analyzed

What does a typical setup look like?

  • Dock 3 with power supply and LAN connection in the field
  • Manual or pre-programmed flights via DJI FlightHub 2 in the browser
  • Pilot must monitor drone flight while the drone is in the air

Can I manage multiple docks at the same time?

  • Yes. With DJI FlightHub 2, you can manage and coordinate multiple docks regardless of location.

How does the data get to the server for evaluation?

  • the data is transferred to a cloud server via the Internet connection
  • the data is evaluated either directly in the cloud or locally after download

Do I need to perform maintenance on the drone?

  • Yes, first a pre-flight check must be carried out at regular intervals (legal requirement)
  • DJI specifies maintenance after flight hours and every 12, 24, and 36 months, which must be carried out by a certified body such as Airclip

Legal aspects (Germany & EU)

Can I control multiple dock drones with one pilot?

  • Yes, if the drones are not in the air at the same time
  • In other words, one drone lands and the next one can take off
  • Otherwise, the number of pilots must be equal to the number of drones in the air
  • Pilots need A2 + STS theory training

What permits do I need?

  • Operation is usually in the "special" category (Specific Category according to EASA)
  • SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) required
  • Flight permit from the Federal Aviation Authority or the state aviation authority
  • BVLOS flights (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) are subject to approval
