What is the drone driving licence?
The drone pilot licence serves as proof to third parties, including authorities, that you have sufficient knowledge in handling drones. This is particularly necessary if the take-off mass of your drone is more than 250g.
In a theoretical examination, you must demonstrate your expertise in the use and navigation of unmanned aerial vehicles, the basic principles of aviation law and the local airspace regulations.
Since the introduction of the EU drone regulation in January 2021, there has been a small (A1/A3 certificate of competence) and a large (A2 remote pilot certificate) EU drone licence.
